Stray Kids Becomes 2nd K-Pop Artist In Billboard 200 History To Spend 11 Consecutive Weeks In Top 80

Two and a half months after it was first released, Stray Kids’ “(5-STAR)” is climbing back up the Billboard 200!

Ever since its debut at No. 1 back in June, Stray Kids’ latest album “(5-STAR)” has never dropped below the top 80 of the Billboard 200 (Billboard’s weekly ranking of the most popular albums in the United States).

On August 22 local time, Billboard revealed that “(5-STAR)” had climbed back up to No. 76 in its 11th consecutive week on the chart.

Not only is “(5-STAR)” Stray Kids’ first album ever to spend 11 weeks on the Billboard 200, but Stray Kids is now only the second K-pop artist in history to chart an album for 11 consecutive weeks in the top 80 (following BTS).

“(5-STAR)” also climbed back up several other Billboard charts this week: the album rose to No. 2 on the World Albums chart, No. 9 on the Top Current Album Sales chart, and No. 10 on the Top Album Sales chart in its 11th week.

Finally, Stray Kids held relatively steady at No. 46 on this week’s Artist 100, marking their 31st non-consecutive week on the chart.

Stray Kids To Perform At 2023 MTV Video Music Awards

Stray Kids will be taking the stage at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs)!

On August 22 local time, MTV officially announced the first batch of performers for its upcoming Video Music Awards.

This year, Stray Kids will be performing at the U.S. award ceremony for the very first time alongside fellow performers Demi Lovato, Karol G, and Måneskin.

Stray Kids is also one of six nominees for Best K-Pop at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, which will air live on September 12 at 8 p.m. ET.

Stray Kids’ Felix is the newest face of luxury brand Louis Vuitton!

On August 22, Louis Vuitton announced Felix to be a new House Ambassador for the brand. Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquiere shared, “I am thrilled that Felix is joining Louis Vuitton—I love his audacious sense of style.”

On August 19 at midnight KST, Hyunjin released the new self-composed track “Contradicting,” for which he co-wrote the music together with Bang Chan and penned all of the lyrics on his own.

The lyrics to the emotional new song capture the struggles of heartbreak and the “contradicting” feelings that come with a fading love.
