And some of the best K-drama characters are perfect examples of this. They start a fake and sometimes contractual relationship, only to find themselves down the rabbit hole of love and longing. Here are nine such K-dramas where the main couples were faking their relationship, only to realize they had indeed got into what they had been avoiding all along.
“Lie to Me”
Gong Ah Jung (Yoon Eun Hye), a government employee, lies to her manipulative friend that she is engaged to be married to a rich man in order to save face about her non-existent love life. But to her horror, the lie snowballs into a situation beyond her control. As the news spreads, everyone assumes her fiancĂ© is none other than the wealthy president of World Hotel Hyun Ki Joon (Kang Ji Hwan). As the rumors gain momentum, Ki Joon plays along with Ah Jung on the condition that she speaks out the truth. But when he realizes that Ah Jung has no intention to come clean, Ki Joon decides to take legal action against her. But before that, she needs to fulfill a contract with him. Given the craziness of their situation, who would have thought that the two would fall for each other madly and deeply? And the plot twist in the tale is the arrival of Ki Joon’s ex-fiancĂ©e, who wants him back.
Song Joong Ki, Han Hyo Joo, Youn Yuh Jung, And John Cho To Attend 2023 Busan International Film
The 28th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) has unveiled the actor lineup for Actors House!
On September 14, BIFF revealed that actors Song Joong Ki, Han Hyo Joo, Youn Yuh Jung, and John Cho will appear at the Actors House at the 28th BIFF.
Established in 2021, the Busan International Film Festival Actors House has received lots of love as a special talk program that invites actors who represent the contemporary film industry and looks back on their filmography as actors share various stories from untold behind-the-scenes episodes to future plans.
First of all, Youn Yuh Jung, who became the first Korean actress to win Best Supporting Actress at the 93rd American Academy Awards for the film “Minari,” will visit the Actors House.
Actors from the films selected for the “Korean Cinema Today – Special Premiere” sector will also be present. Han Hyo Joo from the film “Believer 2” and Song Joong Ki, who stars in the film “Hopeless” and hosted the opening ceremony for the 26th BIFF and, are included in the actor lineup.
Korean-American actor and writer John Cho, who was invited to this year’s special program, will also greet the audience at BIFF.
The 28th Busan International Film Festival will be held at the Busan Cinema Center from October 4 to 13.
John Cho’s Movie “Searching” Tops Korean Box Office
John Cho’s new film “Searching” reached 1.8 million viewers in Korea, taking first place for the foreign thriller films box office records. Korea also took first place in the film’s total worldwide sales record. It was higher than any other place in the world, including the United States. It proves the film’s tremendous popularity in Korea.
The reason why movie lovers in Korea are so wild about “Searching” is because they are used to seeing new technologies. The topics that “Searching” portrays are innovative and familiar at the same time for Korean audiences, who are used to using many different social media platforms.
“Searching” is a thriller film about a father who starts searching for his missing daughter by looking through the evidence in her social media.

BTS’s V has scored his first music show trophy for “Slow Dancing”!
On the September 14 broadcast of Mnet’s “M Countdown,” the candidates for first place were BTS’s V’s “Slow Dancing” and AKMU’s “Love Lee.” BTS’s V ultimately took his first win for “Slow Dancing” with a total of 9,557 points.
