Lee Jae Wook, Jo Bo Ah, Kim Jae Wook, Jung Ga Ram, and more will be starring in the upcoming historical romance drama “Hong Rang” (working title)!

Based on a novel, “Hong Rang” is a mystery romance drama about Jae Yi, the daughter born between danju (the owner of a merchants guild in the Joseon Dynasty) Shim Yeol Guk and a surrogate woman, and Hong Rang, Shim Yeol Guk’s son born through his wife. Director Kim Hong Seon, who helmed “Decoy: part 1” and “Decoy: part 2,” “The Guest,” “The Voice,” and “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area,” will be in charge of production.

Lee Jae Wook will take on the role of Hong Rang, Shim Yeol Guk’s son born through his wife Min Yeon Eui. Hong Rang returns with a secret after going missing for 12 years.

Jo Bo Ah will play Jae Yi, who desperately searches for her half-brother Hong Rang. Jo Bo Ah is expected to delicately portray Jae Yi’s emotions as her character gradually falls in love with Hong Rang, who returns after 12 years, even though she suspects him to be fake.

Jung Ga Ram will portray Shim Yeol Guk’s adopted son Moo Jin, who replaces Hong Rang’s place after he goes missing. Moo Jin will draw out the tense love triangle by confronting Hong Rang, who suddenly appears and shakes up Jae Yi’s heart, also threatening his position in sangdan (merchants guild).

Park Byung Eun will transforma into danju Shim Yeol Guk, the biological father of Hong Rang and Jae Yi who does not flinch as he makes cold-hearted decisions for his own ambitions.

Uhm Ji Won will play Shim Yeol Guk’s wife Min Yeon Eui, who will do anything to find her missing son Hong Rang.

Finally, Kim Jae Wook will take on the role of Prince Han Pyeong, the current king’s only brother and a noble art enthusiast who has no interest in politics or the affairs of the palace.
