Based on the novel of the same name, “The Kidnapping Day” is a black comedy about a special alliance between a blundering kidnapper and a genius 11-year-old girl. Yoon Kye Sang plays Kim Myung Joon, a first-time kidnapper who abducts an 11-year-old girl to raise money for his daughter’s hospital fees. Yoo Na of “Pachinko” plays genius girl Choi Ro Hee, who has a cynical and exceptional mind despite her young age and forms a strange bond with Kim Myung Joon.

Spoilers
In the last broadcast, Kim Myung Joon and Choi Ro Hee heard about doctor Choi Jin Tae’s (Jeon Kwang Jin’s) “Genius Child Project” from Seo Hye Eun (Kim Shin Rok). The “Genius Child Project” was also the reason Seo Hye Eun targeted Choi Ro Hee for kidnapping. Meanwhile, when Kim Myung Joon told Ro Hee that he doesn’t think they can stick together anymore, Choi Ro Hee decided to find out who killed her parents, even if it means doing it all by herself. In response to her tears, Kim Myung Joon promised to protect her, and true to his word, he defended Choi Ro Hee from a mysterious kidnapper. However, while carrying an unconscious Choi Ro Hee, he too fell unconscious.

In the released stills, there is an unusual atmosphere between Kim Myung Joon and Choi Ro Hee who are trapped in Choi Jin Tae’s villa. Choi Ro Hee seems to have changed since regaining consciousness. Her eyes light up as she recalls a memory, and Kim Myung Joon is captured with a serious look on his face as he tries to pick up even the smallest clue from her.

Another still captures Kim Myung Joon and Choi Ro Hee at the beach with polar opposite expressions. Kim Myung Joon has a happy smile on his face, while Choi Ro Hee is captured with a poker face.

In the next set of stills, the tension is heightened by the confrontation between Park Sang Yoon (Park Sung Hoon) and Park Chul Won (Kim Sang Ho). In the early stages of the investigation of Choi Tae Jin and his wife’s murder case, Park Sang Woo investigated Park Chul Won, a security company employee who managed the CCTV at the deceased Choi Jin Tae’s home and at the hospital where he worked. However, Park Sang Yoon receives a suspicious tip about Park Chul Won who had been excluded from the list of suspects due to his perfect alibi, raising questions about why Park Chul Won would want to work for Choi Jin Tae and whether Choi Tae Jin’s murder could be revenge for a medical accident from 30 years ago.

In the upcoming fifth episode, Kim Myung Joon will hear a detailed story of the “Genius Child Project” from Mo Eun Sun (Seo Jae Hee). Also, more light will be shed on the stabbing incident that occurred at the beginning of the drama.

The production team of “The Kidnapping Day” shared, “Kim Myung Joon, Choi Ro Ree, and Park Sang Yoon’s pursuit of the truth continues. New secrets will be uncovered, and there will be many twists and turns.”
